Nickie Monica worked for 20 years at Marathon Oil Refinery in Garyville. He understands teamwork.  In 1995, Nickie was elected to the St. John the Baptist Parish Council, serving with distinction and helping lead the Insurance and Solid Waste Committees.

Four years later, Nickie was chosen by the people of St. John as their parish president and was overwhelmingly re-elected in 2003. 

Under his leadership, records are being set for new economic opportunity and job creation in our area.  Government finances are on solid ground.  Services are being enhanced and the quality of life improved. 

Nickie Monica will hit the ground running in Baton Rouge.  Let’s put his essential governmental experience, unequaled work ethic and unquestioned integrity to work for us.

A native of Garyville, Monica and his wife Dawn live in LaPlace with their five children. The Monica’s are members of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
